And then there is love. No matter how it is envisioned, described, translated or felt one thing is for sure and anyone who is there or has been there knows…. it is trans-formative. Without explanation or warning it can consume your essence like the slow drip of molasses or the quick rush of a river flowing south. It moves your mind and your soul, it takes over and in your mind it is just you and your emotions… all consuming, never ending, emotional, touching, hard and easy all at the same time. When I see it, I’m happy for the couple and I’m hopeful it will last a lifetime and I quickly imagine all the possibilities for their love together. There, with all the hope and possibilities, I leave it as most times it has nothing at all to do with me…that is where I smile, take a few more portraits of the couple together and walk away knowing that I just documented something truly special and that what I hold in my possession is the beginning of it all….those “Pictures to last a lifetime”…
