He did a double take when he came into Health 101 class at Morgan State University. There she was … his breath was taken away. She looked, he looked. They pretended not to notice but each had an affinity for the back of the classroom. So their paths crossed often. Later, they were strategically put in a group together for a project and the rest, as they say is history. Time ushered them into a new era and they began to talk more frequently. He asked for it to be more official and she said yes. “I will be your girlfriend”. The proposal was quite the unexpected for her. It was her birthday but he was hurt and on the couch recuperating from a recent hospital stay. She was to take him to the barbershop after a day of pampering herself and walked in to find him not ready. She proceeded to go downstairs to get his clothes and heard a huge thump. She ran upstairs to find him on the floor. “The first thing I thought was OMG he fell and we need to get back to the hospital. I tried to pick him up off the floor and I’m asking him “Travis are you alright?”. He pushes me on the couch… he is faking pain and talking about how bad his leg hurts then I hear something drop. He reaches under the couch and pulls out a ring. I guess he was so nervous that he dropped the ring and began fumbling for it. He looks at me and starts grinning and says “Will you Marry Me?” and I started laughing and I kept laughing and even asked him if he was serious because I was in shock.” The answer was YES! Vicki and Travis, I was so honored to be there to capture the love that everyone sees between you. I had to take a deep breath when I saw your dress Vicki and knew it was perfect for you and your personality at that instant. Thanks to your family, friends, the cousins and sister-in-law that made my job so easy. Thanks for accommodating my request to hang your gorgeous dress from a tree in the backyard perched above the blueberries on the ground and so high we had to get a ladder. Thanks for your trust in me and what I love to do. I hope you enjoy your Honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. Have something Fruit-tee for me and please send a little sun this way too. Here are a few of my favorites from your very special day!
