It’s always nice watching young kids grow up and go off to do great things in the world.  This one will be no different, for that I am assured.  What a fierce young lady she is.  She loves all things sports and is quite the athlete.  I have watched her play High School Soccer and Basketball and have often wondered where she gets all of her energy from.  She is always so polite, charming and personable and a dear friend of my baby girl since Middle school.   Whenever she is within ear shot I hear her say “Hello Mrs. H., how are you…I’m fine…”

As you venture off to this new world called “college” be reminded that you are a beautiful girl full of all the charm and grace a young adult could behold.  I’ve watched you from near and far over the years and I know this much…  You will be fine.  You will do great things, and be everything you set out to be and do all the things you set out to do. Don’t waiver in your belief that all things are possible.  Oh, and despite the temporary bout of crying,  your mom will be just fine too.  It’s hard letting go until one realizes that you will be back in just a few weeks after leaving with requests for randomness, dirty laundry, food requests, attitude, long sleepy days, requests for the car, money and more randomness…

Enjoy your time at school and answer the phone when they call…. even if you don’t want to…
