It’s always a pleasure to put the day’s best photos together and let the slideshow tell the story of the day! Check out Jody and Chris’ day as it unfolded. From The Hotel at the University of Maryland to the famous Reid Temple and back again… what fun was had by all who attended. The happy couple found it in their hearts to brave the heat for me to even take pictures of them outside on one of the hottest days of the year thusfar. I love my couples for trusting me! It was my pleasure to capture their day with all of their dear family and friends surrounding them with excitement and love.

Michael and Marlyn – Married – Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm Wedding

Not a cloud in the sky. What a beautiful day to get married. Michael, Matthew (his son) and sisters arrived and introduced themselves to me. He moved deliberately among his sisters who helped him and Matthew with their boutonnieres. Slowly the guests began to trickle in and one by one greeted Michael with a smile, handshake, and hug. They were all family and there to support the union of Michael and Marlyn. I stood back, captured the scene and waited for the bride. One of her best friends was there waiting for her to arrive. She looked nervous and called several times to find out her ETA. And just like that, a car rolled up in the driveway and out popped the Bride. Marlyn was like a ray of sunshine. She gave me a big hug, hurried to gather her things, gave them to her friend and disappeared, just a quickly as she arrived, into a room to get dressed. Minutes later she was walking down the aisle on the arm of Matthew. As they moved into full view I could see Marlyn was extremely happy. I turned to capture Michael and his smile was broad. I was elated for the couple as I knew, at that moment, they were happy and were ready for this journey. Married… Marlyn and Michael trusted me to capture their intimate wedding and all of their family and friends. It was elegant and beautiful.

We walked the grounds of Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm to find an appropriate spot for photos. I was happy to find the bridge and the landscape that make the photos so picturesque.

Michael and Marlyn, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your beautiful day. I was honored to be among the few to witness your union and thereafter capture the details that made your union and celebration so special.

Like a trooper, the Washington weather gave us one day between days and days of rain to capture this awesome engagement shoot. Mackenzie and Sam started their engagement session at Meridian Hill in Washington DC. All smiles, hugs and cuddling allowed as I positioned myself to get the shots. When they look at each other they can not help but smile. It makes my heart glad to see this kind of majic love emerge from two High School sweethearts. What an honor to be a part of this gorgeous Glenview mansion wedding of Marcellus and Trena. What an absolutely funny and engaging couple these two are. I was lucky enough to be chosen to capture their beautiful wedding, and am so excited to share their wedding with all of you!

With every wedding captured, I find I am constantly reminded of just how fortunate I am to be a photographer. I feel so blessed by each amazing couple I meet, and all the gorgeous venues and portraits I capture. I’m a firm believer that when you truly love what you do, it shows. I hope you will agree…

David and Candice – The Hotel at the University of Maryland Wedding

The wedding of David and Candice was much anticipated for many. Many months of purposeful planning went into making sure that every detail was deliberate, meaningful and perfect. I love capturing details of the day but as the day unfolds I change focus many times to capture what is needed. In the planning process I get an understanding of what is important to the Bride and Groom and ensure those moments or details are captured so they can look back on it for an eternity with huge smiles on their faces and sometimes tears in their eyes.

David and Candice are a special couple for many reasons but it certainly was my pleasure to capture this day for them as it was a very special day in my heart as well. I did not tell them until later in the prosess of planning that October 14th was my wedding anniversary date. Why would I shoot a wedding on my wedding anniversary? Because capturing the joy, love and laughter of a couples wedding day is such a special undertaking and after getting to know them I, admittedly, was a bit selfish and did not want them to seek another photographer to capture their special day. After speaking to my better half, who agreed, I was all in.

David and Candice… thanks for entrusting me to capture your wedding day. It was nothing short of spectacular and I enjoyed every moment of it. Your friends and family are some of the warmest and friendliest people and I was overjoyed to be a part. May God continue to bless your union and your home. You are officially welcomed into the #whimsy4life family and I look forward to all of your future moments that need to be captured…

Words can not express the vows that were written by these two and read to one another. I was in a Chapel but I have to admit I stopped taking pictures for the second half of his vows and said a little “damn…” when David finished his disertation on his LOVE for Candice! Spectacular….
